Blacklist feels like it is brining back some of the old stuff and keeping what worked from the new. It seemed like Conviction was a game where they tried some new stuff, streamlined the story (it seemed like the game was designed to want you to kill everyone), and made a good game.
Then again I am on the 360, maybe the PC experience is different.
I have never had a 'bad' experience with Uplay, you usually get free in-game stuff from it (pouches, guns, maps). So, what say you Hive mind? Will you play it? Or will the taint of UPlay and no Ironsides keep you away? Also Sam seems to get about 3-5 years younger ever game since Double Agent. However the guy's voice just isn't right.
From what I've seen this is going to give us the most lifelike and spry Sam Fischer ever. This was done because they wanted the voice actor to be the mo-cap actor as well. Michael Ironsides is no longer Sam Fischer. But I really loved being super stealthy in Chaos Theory so I'm glad they put the Perfectionist mode in. When I just want to go through and be semi-stealth, ninja assault - Mark and Execute can be fun. Supposedly even if I can't get someone to play with me - Co-Op maps will be playable solo, so you won't miss that part of the story. Perhaps I'll finally be able to change that. Because none of my friends play Splinter Cell. And I've missed out on co-op *every* time its been in game. I remember having a little fun with it before, I'm hoping I can dedicate a little more time to it. Perfectionist Mode (for those of us who want a more classic feel, without Mark and Execute) 3 'Experience' types and a pretty robust gadget set/gear customization. The Good (based on game demo videos and journalist impressions) So - the next iteration of Splinter Cell is coming out August 20th and we don't have a dedicated thread - and since I'm a chump and have already pre-ordered I figured I set one up and see who else is planning to play the new and 'improved' Sam Fischer? If you bought it on Steam the preload opened this morning. It goes live on Steam at 12 Noon CST today.
